Manta Ray MkII

Finished in a custom flake of Canadian Blue and Brilliant Royal Blue. This 1970 MkII Manta Ray Beach Buggy offers traffic stopping looks and is presented in a show-winning condition. This thing is wonderfully absurd. It may be a car without a lot of things – for example doors, airbags and a radio – but its unquestionable uniqueness puts it in a class all of its own. The buggy design is based on the Dean Jeffries stateside Kyote (Mantaray), it's sleek body shell was certainly one of the most attractive of the unusual-shaped UK buggies of its time.

The Wolfrace slotmags wheels and tyres give it a stocky stance, while the white custom pinstripe follows the beautiful lines of the body work. Inside the Manta Ray things are as you would expect them to be, minimal yet stylish. Four seats finished in a diamond stitch pattern with side and footwell panels to match. The steering wheel, speedo and controls all retain that seventies period look. The floor has hardwood varnished duckboards, to give it that 'Surfs Up' feel and the funky rearview surfboard shaped mirror completes the look.

The Manta Ray has modern rear LED lights which don't detract from that period look. With dynamic turn signals and rear halo brake lights, to match the LED headlights up front.

On request the 1.3-litre twin port engine fires up, emitting a confident roar and an idling purr, via stainless steel cannons. Twin EMPI 34 ICT carburettors are economical but enable your to keep up with modern traffic.

This is a fine example of the iconic Beach Buggy that took the world by storm. Its unmistakable appearance and incredible noise combine to create a car with unmatched character and a personality all of its own. We can't think of a better way to enjoy the summer sun than this. So grab your board and your shorts – the beach is calling and the Manta Ray Beach Buggy is the perfect companion.
